FAQs

What working width should I look for in a commercial upright carpet vacuum?
For large commercial floors such as retail stores, hotels and offices, an upright carpet vacuum with a working width of around 48cm covers more ground per pass, reducing cleaning time on big areas compared to standard domestic models.

How do I adjust brush height for different carpet pile types?
Most commercial upright vacuums include a brush roller height adjustment, often guided by a visual indicator light, allowing the brush to be matched precisely to the carpet pile height for optimal cleaning results without damaging fibres.

How often should filter bags be replaced in a commercial vacuum cleaner?
Filter bags should be replaced once they reach capacity or when a filter status indicator signals reduced suction, typically every few weeks under heavy commercial use, to maintain consistent airflow and cleaning performance.

Is a heavy duty upright vacuum suitable for daily commercial cleaning?
Yes, heavy duty upright vacuums built with hard wearing power cables, tool free brush replacement and durable filter systems are designed specifically for daily use in high traffic commercial environments like offices, hotels and showrooms.

What safety features should a commercial carpet vacuum include?
Look for a vacuum rated for standard commercial power supply, a filter status indicator, a low sound pressure level for occupied workplaces, and a flexible, tear resistant power cable to reduce electrical and trip hazards during operation.
